Our Take on Eightcap Challenges

With an overall score of 93/100, Eightcap Challenges is one of the highest-scoring prop firms we've reviewed. The challenge website is operated by Eightcap International Ltd in Seychelles, and while the environment is designed to mirror live conditions, all activities are simulated and do not create a brokerage client relationship.

The Day Trader, One Phase and Two Phase challenges cover both structured multi-day evaluations and fast timed sessions. RAW account spreads start from 0.0 pips or points, with asset-specific commission: $5 per lot on most instruments at opening, $2 per lot on US Stocks at open and close (Day Trader only), and $0 on Cryptocurrency. Both One Phase and Two Phase challenges range from $5,000 to $200,000. Standard profit split is 80% with up to 90% via the paid add-on. Day Trader payout is simply Stake x Multiplier on a successful session. We think this will suit serious forex traders who want a trading environment that feels familiar and efficient, plus traders looking for short-session US Stocks access.

Two Phase Challenge

Account sizes from $5,000 to $200,000. For accounts created on or after 23.02.26: 9% Assessment (Phase 1) and 5% Qualification (Phase 2) targets, 5% daily and 10% total drawdown. Minimum 3 trading days per step.

1 One Phase Challenge

The One Phase Challenge is the most direct evaluation because you only work through a single phase before entering the payout stage, and the rules stay fixed from the moment your account is created.

You choose an account size from $5,000 to $200,000, pay the one-off fee, and trade until you reach the 10% target or breach either the 4% daily or 8% total drawdown. The minimum of five trading days stops you from passing in a single move, but otherwise the pacing is flexible.

The daily drawdown is balance-based and calculated from the previous day's balance snapshot. If the limit is exceeded on equity, the account breaches. The standard profit split is 80%, with 90% available only through the paid profit split add-on.

2 Two Phase Challenge

The Two Phase Challenge offers more breathing room through wider limits, and many traders prefer it because the structure feels smoother across different market conditions.

You choose from $5,000 to $200,000. For accounts created on or after 23.02.26, the evaluation runs a 9% Assessment (Phase 1) target and a 5% Qualification (Phase 2) target, which is easier to manage than trying to hit a single large target at once.

The 5% daily and 10% overall drawdowns allow for steadier trade management, and each phase requires at least three trading days before you can move forward. The standard profit split is 80%, with 90% available only through the paid add-on.

3 Day Trader Challenge (1-8 Hours)

The Day Trader Challenge is completely different because it compresses the entire evaluation into a timed session, which creates a faster and more tactical experience.

Every challenge begins with a fixed $10,000 simulated balance, and you choose a stake between $5 and $500 in $5 increments along with a multiplier that sets your target and drawdown. Once the session starts, you work inside a 1, 2, 4 or 8-hour window and try to reach your target before either the timer or your drawdown runs out.

You can only run one Day Trader challenge at a time, and the model enforces a 40% Symbol Limit and 60% Asset Class Limit on profit allocation so the challenge cannot be passed through a single concentrated entry. Day Trader can be traded on MT4, MT5, or TradeLocker (TradingView is not available for Day Trader).

How to Calculate Your Exact Eightcap Day Trader Targets

  • The Initial Stake can be any amount between $5 and $500, in $5 increments.
  • Total Earned is always calculated as your Stake x Multiplier (2x, 5x or 10x).
  • The Drawdown & Target Ratio: your profit target and maximum drawdown are fixed dollar amounts tied to the static $10,000 challenge balance, and they change based on your selected time limit and multiplier. As you select a higher multiplier (e.g., 2x to 10x), Eightcap tightens your allowable drawdown and increases the required profit target. Conversely, giving yourself a longer time limit (e.g., 1HR to 8HR) loosens your allowable drawdown and increases the profit target.

For example, a 1HR 10x challenge has a strictly fixed maximum drawdown of $17 and a profit target of $99, regardless of your initial stake size; only the total payout (Stake x 10) scales.

Add-Ons (One Phase & Two Phase Only)

Eightcap Challenges offers four optional add-ons for the funded account stage on One Phase and Two Phase challenges. These do not apply to the Day Trader challenge, since that model pays directly from the multiplier on a successful session. The standard profit split is 80% - the 90% split is only available with the paid add-on.

Add-OnFeeOne PhaseTwo PhaseDay Trader
Earlier Payout (7 days)+25%
3-Day Payout+50%
Profit Split 90%+25%

Scaling Plan

Eightcap Challenges runs a structured scaling plan on the One Phase and Two Phase challenges, with growth tied to consistent profitability rather than headline targets alone.

Scaling Criteria

  • Minimum 15% in payouts within a 4-month period
  • At least 2 months of profitability
  • Positive account balance at the time of scale-up request
  • Existing account balance can increase by 25%
  • Scaling can continue up to $1 million
  • Scaling approval is subject to internal risk assessment and is not guaranteed

Maximum Allocation vs Scaling

Keep these two figures separate. The active account allocation cap across all funded accounts is $600,000. Scaling can grow an individual account up to $1 million if the criteria are met and the request is approved.

The Day Trader challenge does not include any scaling or allocation increases because each session stands alone.

Trading Rules

Eightcap Challenges' trading rules are clear once you understand how each model is structured, and most of the restrictions are in place to keep the challenges fair and consistent across all accounts.

Automated Trading

EAs and indicators are allowed, but prohibited strategies include martingale, hedging across accounts, grid trading, tick trading, copy trading with other traders, latency arbitrage, reverse arbitrage, gap trading, and account management. Violations in payout stage may lead to termination.

News Restrictions

News restrictions are model-specific:

  • One Phase / Two Phase: trading restricted 10 minutes before and after high-impact news events.
  • Day Trader: trading restricted 5 minutes before and after high-impact news events.

For One Phase / Two Phase a news breach is a soft breach - profits from those trades are removed while the account remains active.

Copy Trading

Copy trading from other traders is prohibited. Copy trading between your own accounts is allowed if all accounts are registered under the same email address. Severe breaches can lead to account termination, while other breaches may lead to profit removal.

Weekend & Swing Trading

Weekend trading and swing trading are allowed. The platform supports 24/7 trading.

Position Limits

Per-trade limits: max 10 simultaneous trades on One Phase / Two Phase. Max volume per trade: Forex 40 lots, Commodities 10 lots, Indices 20 lots.

Per-symbol exposure limits: Forex 100 lots, Metals 50 lots (Silver 10 lots), Oil 50 lots, Indices 25 lots, Stocks 50 lots, BTCUSD 5 lots.

Drawdown Rules

Daily drawdown is balance-based and calculated from the previous day's balance snapshot. If the limit is exceeded on equity, the account breaches. The floating drawdown is monitored from highest equity to current equity including open trades.

Breach Handling

When an account is breached, the platform is automatically restricted and new positions cannot be opened.

Inactivity Rule

Accounts are terminated after 30 consecutive days with no trades.

VPN / VPS & Identity

VPN and VPS use is allowed if traders follow the guidelines: use a paid VPN, keep country settings consistent, and avoid shared or group VPS setups. Multiple profiles / emails and duplicate-user behaviour are prohibited.

How We Tested Eightcap Challenges' Challenges (9/10)

We scored Eightcap Challenges' challenges by mapping their trading rules against our framework for targets, drawdown, costs and flexibility, then running test accounts in the Two Phase challenge. We checked that the 9% and 5% post-23.02.26 Two Phase targets, the 10% One Phase target, the 4-5% daily drawdown and the 8-10% max loss all sat inside our preferred bands. The extra point came from the short-session Day Trader challenge, the four-add-on stack on standard models, and the structured scaling path. Higher fees on larger accounts kept the score at 9/10.

Commission Fees & Pricing

Eightcap Challenges runs RAW account pricing across all challenge accounts, with spreads starting from 0.0 pips or points. Commission is asset-specific: $5 per lot on most instruments at opening, $2 per lot at open and close for US Stocks (Day Trader only), and $0 for Cryptocurrency.

Live spreads can be viewed directly in platform. The pricing is designed to mirror live conditions within the simulated challenge environment.

How We Tested Eightcap Challenges' Spreads & Fees (9/10)

We evaluated Eightcap Challenges' spreads by connecting a test account during active London and New York sessions. The RAW account spreads start from 0.0 pips or points, the $5 per lot commission on most instruments and the $2 per lot Day Trader US Stocks commission align with the asset-specific model we use in scoring. Crypto at $0 commission is a strong point. The 1-point deduction reflects the fact that some competitors offer lower round-turn commissions, which is our ideal benchmark for perfect scoring.

Financial Markets & Leverage

You can trade forex, indices, commodities, and cryptocurrency across all challenges. US Stocks are available for the Day Trader challenge. Leverage depends on the model you choose.

The One Phase and Two Phase accounts use the highest leverage, with forex capped at 1:100. Day Trader applies tighter caps across every asset class, reflecting the short-session, fixed-balance format.

How We Tested Eightcap Challenges' Markets & Leverage (8.5/10)

We tested Eightcap Challenges' market depth by trading across asset classes on a Two Phase challenge account and a Day Trader session, comparing instrument availability to our broad market requirement. Eightcap Challenges covers forex, indices, commodities, crypto, and US Stocks (Day Trader), which is a strong asset mix. We deducted points because US Stocks are limited to Day Trader and there is no futures trading.

Eightcap Challenges runs on MetaTrader 4 (MT4), MetaTrader 5 (MT5), TradeLocker and TradingView. MT4, MT5 and TradeLocker are available across all challenge types. TradingView is available on One Phase and Two Phase only - not on the Day Trader challenge.

Platform Switching

Switching platforms is supported on standard challenges but not during an active Day Trader session, so you need to choose your platform beforehand.

How We Tested Eightcap Challenges' Trading Platforms (9/10)

We scored Eightcap Challenges' platforms by running both automated and manual trades on MT5 during a Two Phase challenge, a timed Day Trader session on TradeLocker, and a discretionary One Phase setup on TradingView. MT4/MT5 deliver full EA and MQL automation, TradeLocker handles clean manual execution, and TradingView adds 400+ indicators and custom timeframes for One Phase / Two Phase. The deduction reflects TradingView's exclusion from Day Trader sessions and the U.S. resident restriction on MT4/MT5.

Payments & Profit Payout

Eightcap Challenges processes profit payouts once you qualify, with eligibility to request a payout starting after 14 days in payout stage (or 7 days with the Earlier Payout add-on) for One Phase and Two Phase accounts, subject to minimum trading day requirements.

The standard profit split is 80%, upgradeable to 90% with the paid add-on on One Phase and Two Phase challenges only.

Day Trader

No traditional profit cap - the model uses a 40% Symbol Limit and 60% Asset Class Limit on profit allocation instead.

Payout Stage Requirements

Minimum Trading Days

One Phase payout stage requires 7 minimum trading days. Two Phase payout stage requires 5 minimum trading days. A trade must remain open at least 60 seconds to count as a trading day.

Daily Profit Distribution

Payout-phase daily profit distribution rules apply. For accounts created on or after Feb 11: One Phase 30%, Two Phase 35%. For older accounts: One Phase 25%, Two Phase 30%.

One Phase & Two Phase Payouts

Payouts can be requested once payout-stage requirements are met and KYC verification is completed if required. The minimum payout amount is $100 after the profit split. If the post-split amount is under $100, the payout request is declined and the amount remains in the account.

Payouts are typically processed within 24-48 hours after approval and only on business days. Only fully earned profit can be withdrawn - partial payouts are not supported.

Trading is paused while a payout request is under review, and resumes once the payout is finalised.

Day Trader Payouts

Day Trader payouts are calculated as Stake x Multiplier on a successful session, and processing follows the standard 24-48 hour window after approval. Eligibility starts immediately after a successful session with no 14-day wait.

Day Trader payouts can be lower than $100 when paid via crypto, since the minimum $100 floor applies to One Phase and Two Phase only.

Payment Methods & Fees

Bank Transfer

Available for withdrawals of $100+. Flat $50 fee per bank wire withdrawal.

Cryptocurrency

USDT (TRC20 or ERC20) and BTC supported. 1% fee on crypto withdrawals. Day Trader supports sub-$100 crypto payouts; One Phase / Two Phase keep a $100 minimum.

Important Payout Notes

Payouts are processed on business days only - weekend and holiday requests roll to the next business day. Only fully earned profit can be withdrawn; partial payouts are not supported. Trading is paused while a payout request is under review.

How We Tested Eightcap Challenges' Payout System (9/10)

We tested payouts by completing a Two Phase challenge and submitting a withdrawal request. We verified the 14-day first-payout rule, the $100 minimum on standard challenges, the KYC verification step, and the 24-48 hour processing window after approval. Eightcap Challenges sits at 9/10 because of the profit caps (5% One Phase, 10% Two Phase), payout fees (1% crypto, $50 bank wire), and no partial payouts.

Customer Service & Education

Eightcap Challenges provides reliable support for its challenge accounts, with 24/7 email assistance and live chat that connects you to a real person rather than a bot, which makes troubleshooting during volatile sessions much easier.

Customer support replies were fast during our testing, and we consistently received clear answers to KYC, payout timelines and account rules - the areas where most prop traders need a quick response.

Support Channels

Live Chat

Real human agents, not bots. Available 24/7 with fast response times during volatile sessions.

Email Support

24/7 email assistance with consistently clear answers on KYC, payouts and account rules.

Educational Resources

The education offering is stronger than what most prop firms provide, since you also get access to Eightcap's ecosystem of research tools.

Trade Zone

Weekly market insights, session previews and technical breakdowns covering the same instruments and trading conditions you'll see on challenge accounts.

Eightcap Labs

More structured guides on trading concepts, risk management ideas and strategy building. Designed for retail clients but translates well to challenge trading.

How We Tested Eightcap Challenges' Support & Education (9/10)

We tested Eightcap Challenges' support by contacting live chat and email with payout, KYC and platform questions, checking response speed and accuracy. They scored strongly because replies were fast, 24/7 and handled by real agents. For educational resources, we reviewed Trade Zone and Eightcap Labs for market insights and practical guidance. We deducted one point because the material isn't challenge-specific.

Trust & Community

The challenge website is operated by Eightcap International Ltd in Seychelles, and the challenge products are explicitly outside regulated brokerage or investment services. While the environment is designed to mirror live conditions, all activities are simulated and do not create a brokerage client relationship.

The Eightcap group has been operating since 2009 and holds multiple regulatory licences for its brokerage services, which provides a trust foundation for the challenge products.

Eightcap Group Regulatory Status

The Eightcap brokerage group holds licences from top-tier financial authorities. Note that these licences apply to the brokerage services, not to the challenge products operated by Eightcap International Ltd in Seychelles:

ASIC

Australia

FCA

United Kingdom

CySEC

Cyprus

SCB

Bahamas

Simulated Environment

All challenge activities are simulated and do not create a brokerage client relationship. The challenge products are operated by Eightcap International Ltd in Seychelles and are explicitly outside regulated brokerage or investment services. Challenge accounts do not carry investor protections like traditional CFD trading accounts.

Transparency

Eightcap Challenges is transparent about how payouts work, what triggers a review and which documents are required for KYC, and the 14-day first-payout window is stated openly rather than buried in fine print.

Monthly trading instrument updates and clear leverage tables help you understand exactly what you can trade before starting a challenge. The combination of the Eightcap group's long operating history and public rule documentation makes the overall setup more predictable than many independent prop firms.

How We Tested Eightcap Challenges' Trust & Transparency (9/10)

We assessed trust using our three-pillar model: regulation, reputation, and operational transparency. We verified the Eightcap group's licences (ASIC, FCA, CySEC, SCB), checked the 4.1/5 Trustpilot score, and noted that challenge products are operated by Eightcap International Ltd in Seychelles outside of regulated brokerage services. The deduction came from the simulated trading environment nature of challenge accounts, which do not carry investor protections.

Our Final Verdict On Eightcap Challenges

Eightcap Challenges earns a solid overall score of 93/100. The challenge website is operated by Eightcap International Ltd in Seychelles, and while the environment is designed to mirror live conditions, all activities are simulated and do not create a brokerage client relationship.

The challenge formats are balanced and achievable. The Day Trader model offers a genuinely alternative way to prop trade with stakes from $5 to $500 in $5 increments and a 40% Symbol / 60% Asset Class profit allocation rule. MT4, MT5, TradeLocker and TradingView support gives you access to a proper technical environment - though TradingView is not available on Day Trader and U.S. residents are restricted from MT4/MT5. Costs are competitive starting from $59, RAW spreads start from 0.0 pips, and commission is asset-specific.

The main limitations are the profit caps on payouts (5% for One Phase, 10% for Two Phase), the 14-day wait before the first payout on standard challenges, and the U.S. platform restrictions. The overall package feels more stable and predictable than many independent prop firms because everything is built on top of Eightcap's infrastructure, with a structured scaling plan up to $1 million backing it up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Eightcap Challenges offers three challenge types: One Phase, Two Phase, and Day Trader. One Phase and Two Phase accounts range from $5,000 to $200,000, while Day Trader uses a fixed $10,000 simulated balance with stakes from $5 to $500 in $5 increments. The challenges are traded in a simulated environment, and current platform options include MT4, MT5, TradeLocker, and TradingView, subject to platform and location restrictions.
Eightcap Challenges payouts are typically processed within 24-48 hours after approval. For One Phase and Two Phase accounts, the first payout is available after 14 days, or 7 days with the Earlier Payout add-on, subject to meeting payout requirements. A 3-Day Payout add-on is also available. The minimum payout is $100 for standard challenges. Day Trader payouts can be lower when using crypto, with crypto-only payouts available below $100.
Eightcap Challenges applies profit caps on One Phase and Two Phase accounts. The One Phase profit cap is 5% of the initial balance for approved payouts, while the Two Phase profit cap is 10% of the initial balance for approved payouts. Accounts created before February 11 are not subject to the Two Phase profit cap. For Day Trader, the key payout restriction is different: it uses a 40% Symbol Limit and 60% Asset Class Limit.
The Eightcap Day Trader Challenge uses a dynamic staking model. You choose a stake between $5 and $500 in $5 increments, and the total potential payout is always Stake x Multiplier, where the multiplier is 2x, 5x or 10x. The drawdown and profit target are fixed dollar amounts tied to the static $10,000 balance and only change based on the time limit (1, 2, 4 or 8 hours) and multiplier you select.
For the 1HR Day Trader Challenge, the drawdown and profit target are fixed dollar values regardless of stake size. At 2x they are $28 / $56; at 5x they are $20 / $69; at 10x they are $17 / $99. Only the total payout scales with stake (Stake x Multiplier) - so a $100 stake at 10x still uses a $17 drawdown and a $99 profit target, paying out $1,000 on success.
All Eightcap Day Trader accounts enforce a strict 40% Symbol Limit and a 60% Asset Class Limit for profit allocation, regardless of the time limit or stake you choose. There is no single-instrument 75% cap on Day Trader - that figure is outdated.
No, Eightcap Challenges does not offer a demo version of its prop challenges. The challenge environment uses simulated conditions, but you can't trial the evaluation rules or test pass conditions without buying a challenge first. If you want to practise, you can use a free MT4 or MT5 demo, but it won't replicate challenge drawdowns or targets.
